This spring, Clifford’s skies will come alive.


Kite flyers from across the region will bring giant, breathtaking kites to our community for a day filled with colour, connection, and fresh-air fun.

The event will also feature a Vendor's Market with over 40 vendors, kids' activities, food trucks, and more. Bring your own kite to fly alongside the professionals!

Excited to join us for Kites in Clifford? Here's what you need to know before you go!

  • What time is the event?

    Kites in Clifford runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 30th.


    If weather conditions are ideal, there is a chance the professional kites may remain flying into the evening for a special sunset/night display. Watch the Facebook Event Page for updates the day of the event.

  • Where should I park?

    Parking is available throughout Clifford, including:

    • Limited parking will be available on-site at Clifford Rotary Park
    • Municipal parking lot at Clifford Rotary Celebration Squar,e located at the corner of Elora St. S., and Allan St E
    • The Municipal Parking Lot at the Clifford Community Centre, 2 Brown St. S.,
    • Side street parking throughout town

    Please follow all posted signage and be respectful of driveways and no-parking zones.

  • Is the event rain or shine?

    Yes. Artisan vendors, food vendors, kids' crafts, and entertainment will continue rain or shine.


    However, the kites can only fly in suitable weather conditions. Wind, rain, or storms may impact flying demonstrations. Please watch the Facebook Event Page for day-of updates.

  • Is there an admission fee?

    Nope! Kites in Clifford is a free community event.


    There will be opportunities to support Clifford Connects and the Minto and District Lions Club through donations and raffles.

  • Should I bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket?

    Yes! We encourage visitors to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to relax and enjoy the kite displays, music, and food throughout the day.

  • Can I bring my own kite?

    Absolutely! There will be a designated Bring Your Own Kite (BYOK) Flying Area where visitors are encouraged to fly their own kites.


    Please note:

    • The BYOK area is unsupervised
    • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times
    • Participants fly kites at their own risk
  • Will there be food available?

    Yes! Enjoy a variety of food trucks, local businesses serving food, sweet treats, and downtown dining options throughout the event.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Friendly, leashed pets are welcome. Please clean up after your pet and be mindful that large crowds and flying kites may be overwhelming for some animals.

  • Where can I find updates or weather information that may impact kite flying??

  • If the evening kite show happens, what can we do in Clifford between 3:00 PM and the night flying?

    Make a full day of it! 🌤️🪁


    If weather conditions allow for an evening/night kite show, there are plenty of ways to explore and enjoy Clifford and the surrounding Minto area while you wait for the skies to light back up.


    Here are a few ideas:


    • Shop local businesses and explore downtown Clifford
    • Grab dinner or a snack from local favourites like Dell's Diner, Clifford Takeout, or Clifford Snack Shack
    • Take a self-guided Downtown Historical Walking Tour through the Driftscape app
    • Walk local trails and enjoy the spring scenery
    • Visit nearby communities throughout Minto for shopping, dining, and small-town exploring
