Halloween Haunted House Decorating Contest
Our annual Halloween Decorating Competition (formerly Creatures in Clifford) has a new twist! For two years now, Clifford has welcomed the Creatures at Halloween.
This year, we’re giving them a whole house to haunt.
Join us and help Clifford get in the spooky spirit by decorating your house for Halloween and bringing families and friends out to see it on display! This year, there will be new categories, more chances to win, & a chance to recognize the efforts of all our neighbours - decorators big and small - for getting in the spirit.
Need a reason to participate? There is $500 in prizes up for grabs!

How to Participate?
Residents of Clifford can get involved by decorating their own house, nominating a neighbour whose Halloween decorations deserve a shout-out, voting for the best decorated house, and touring the town!
We're back again with judged categories to pick the best decorated houses in Clifford for Halloween. This year, there are four new categories.
Registered houses will be awarded in the following four categories:
- Best family-friendly fright
- Best storytelling
- Best do-it-yourself (DIY) decor
- Best lighting and effects
Important Dates
Sunday, October 25th
Registered houses must be ready for judging by October 25th at midnight.
Monday, October 26th
Lawn Signs will be delivered to indicate your participation in the contest.
Thursday, October 29th to Friday, October 30th
Judging occurs by a small panel of local judges.
Saturday, October 31st
Winners of the contest will be announced.
Winners will be contacted by Clifford
Connects Representative, Alicia Becker, to arrange a quick photo op on location of each winning house between 10 a.m.- 11 a.m.
Winners will receive their prize and certificate at this time.
Judging
Houses may be entered in more than one category and will be judged by a small panel of local judges.
Prizes
The winner of each category will receive a Certificate and a $50 Think Minto First Gift Card that can be used at most Minto Businesses (Browse Shops)
Lawn Signs
Participating houses will receive a lawn sign to indicate their participation in the contest. Lawn signs are limited. First come, first served!
Lawn signs will be delivered by October 26th.
Lawn signs will be collected by a committee representative after October 31st.

Nominate houses for the People's Choice category
Wednesday, October 21st
Nominations close for the People's Choice Category
Thursday, October 22nd
Nominated houses will be contacted for consent to participate.
Friday, October 23rd
Nominated house owners must provide permission to be entered in the contest.
Monday, October 26th
Lawn Signs will be delivered to indicate your participation in the contest.
Monday, October 26th - Thursday, October 29th
Voting Opens for the People's Choice Category
Saturday, October 31st
Winners of the contest will be announced.
Winners will be contacted by Clifford Connects Representative, Alicia Becker, to arrange a quick photo op on location of each winning house between 10am-11am.
Winners will receive their prize and certificate at this time.
Requirements for Nominating
Nominators must submit a photo of the decorated house and address via the form.
Nominators are encouraged to provide the contact information of the nominated house and let your neighbour know you nominated them. Nominations will only stand if consent is received by the nominated house owner.
Individuals can nominate up to 5 houses.
Owners of Nominated houses must consent to photos of their house & their address to be shared on Clifford Connect's voting form, website, and social media by Friday, October 23rd.
Prizes
Nominators will be entered in a draw to win a $100 family pizza party.
The top three nominated houses in the People's Choice will receive a $50 Think Minto First Gift Card.
All nominated houses will be entered in a draw to win a $25 Think Minto First Gift Card.
Voters for the People's Choice Category will be entered to win a $25 Think Minto First Gift Card.
Information for the Nominated
Owners of Nominated houses must consent to photos of their house & their address to be shared on Clifford Connect's voting form, website, and social media by Friday, October 23rd via this form.
You will be delivered a lawn sign by October 26th that indicates you are a part of the People's Choice voting contest to be displayed prior to, and during, the voting period.
Lawn signs are limited. First come, first serve. Lawn signs will be collected after Halloween.
New this year, you can nominate a Halloween-decorated house in Clifford for the People's Choice category that may not already be registered.
Voting for nominated houses via the People's Choice Category will take place via a separate google form linked below.
Vote for haunted houses nominated for the People's Choice Category.
Voting will be open on Monday, October 26th at noon and will close on Thursday, October 29th at midnight.
Everyone who votes will be entered to win a $25 Think Minto First Gift Card.
Residents are encouraged to tour the Haunted Houses on October 31st.
Prizes will be awarded that morning, so keep an eye out for the results while trick-or-treating! Winners will be announced on Clifford Connects Facebook & Instagram.
