Meet Events & Activities Committee Member, Courtney Dowling!
Why did you decide to join this committee?
I just moved back to the area in September and I wanted to help in making our community a great one. Coming from a city I can confidently say being in a small community that puts on great events makes it such a special place to live. You don’t get stuff like this in a city.
What is your favourite event or activity to plan as a member of your committee?
I haven’t been on the committee for a full year yet, so I can’t pick one. I work in marketing and plan lots of events, so any event planning is right up my alley!
What is the best part of being on this committee/what do you find valuable about this experience?
Bringing joy to others in our community. Like I said, you don’t get these types of events in the city and I think that’s what makes it such a special place to live.
Is there anything else you would like to share with someone who is considering volunteering in Minto?
It’s fun! Most people think it’s a ton of hours you have to give when volunteering but it’s not the case, many hands make light work!
